In his book ‘Kreis der Jahresfeste’ (sorry, only in German available), the late Emil Bock wrote: “We have to start very deep down, if we want to go on an inner journey; just as the earth starts deep down when it brings forth new life. If we do not begin deep down, we are left up in the air.” A truthful image, giving wintertime a powerful meaning. Deep in the earth, well-wrapped by the cold, new life is waiting to be called forth by sun’s love; just as our inner being slumbers, until we give warm attention, so that it can unfold itself before us.
With this in mind, I wish for us in the coming year the courage to turn inwards and loving attention for our inner path.
